RM Palaniappan (b. 1957) obtained a Post diploma from the College of Art & Crafts in Chennai, and was the head of the graphics workshop at the Regional Centre of Lalit Kala Academi in Chennai. Over the course of his career, he has exhibited throughout India and world, including solo shows in the USA, Mexico, Canada, Syria, Cuba, Finland, Taiwan, France, England, Japan and Spain. He has also received numerous grants and awards, including the National Award in 1996 and the Bhart Bhavan Print Biennale Award. His works are in the collections of the British Museum, the US Library of Congress and the National Gallery of Modern Art. RM Palaniappan lives and works in Chennai.
