Avishek Sen received an MFA in Painting with First Class (First) from Kalabhvan Shantiniketan, Viswa Bharati University in 2001, and a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Painting with First Class from Rabindra Bharati Unversity in 1999. He was also awarded a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2000, and completed a three-month International Artist Residency at Point Ephemere in Paris in 2007.
