Avishek Sen received an MFA in Painting with First Class (First) from Kalabhvan Shantiniketan, Viswa Bharati University in 2001, and a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Painting with First Class from Rabindra Bharati Unversity in 1999. He was also awarded a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2000, and completed a three-month International Artist Residency at Point Ephemere in Paris in 2007. Selected solo exhibitions include Apparao Galleries in Chennai (2007); Point Ephmere in Paris (2007); Hotel Park Royal, sponsored by Citibank, in New Delhi (2004); Citibank Juhu Branch in Mumbai (2004); Triveni Kala Sangam, sponsored by Apparao Galleries, in New Delhi (2003); Selected group exhibitions include Whirlpool of Fate at the India Habitat Centre, sponsored by Apparao Galleries, in New Delhi (2007); Mosaic is Not Prosaic at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai (2007); The Politics of Fear at the Albion Gallery in London (2007); and My Secret Garden at Shridharani Gallery in New Delhi (2006). Avishek Sen lives and works in New Delhi.
